If youre in an interracial relationship, you may be crazy about your partner but dismayed that others disapprove. So, what’s the best way to handle the objections? Communication and boundary-setting are key. Above all else, take the steps necessary to protect your relationship in the face of ongoing negativity. Don’t Assume the Worst For your own mental health, assume that most people have good intentions. If you notice eyes on you and your significant other as you walk down the street, don’t automatically think  it’s because the passersby disapprove of your interracial union. Perhaps people are staring because they consider you a particularly attractive couple. Perhaps people are staring because they applaud you for being in a mixed relationship or because they belong to a mixed couple themselves. It’s quite common for members of interracial couples to notice similar couples. Dont Give the Haters Any of Your Time Of course, there are times when strangers on the street are openly hostile. Their eyes really do fill with hate at the sight of interracial couples. So, what should you do when you’re on the receiving end of their glares? Nothing. Just look away and keep going about your business, even if the stranger actually shouts out an insult. Getting into a confrontation is unlikely to do much good. Moreover, your choice of mate is absolutely no one’s concern but yours. The best thing you can do is not give the haters any of your time. Don’t Spring Your Relationship on Loved Ones No one knows your family and friends as you do. If they’re open-minded liberal types or have had an interracial relationship or two themselves, they’re unlikely to make a fuss upon meeting your new partner. If, in contrast, they’re socially conservative and have no friends of a different race, let alone dated anyone of mixed race, you might want to sit them down and let them know that you’re now a part of a mixed couple. You might frown upon this idea if you think of yourself as color-blind, but giving your loved ones advance notice that you’re in an interracial relationship will spare you and your partner from an awkward first encounter with your friends and family. Without advance notice, your mother might grow visibly flustered, or your best friends might ask if they can speak to you in the next room to grill you about your relationship. Are you prepared to have these kinds of awkward encounters? And how will you react if your partners feelings are hurt because of your loved ones’ behavior? To avoid drama and pain, tell your loved ones about your interracial relationship in advance. It’s the kindest move to make for all involved, including yourself. Dialogue With Disapproving Family and Friends Say you tell your friends and family that you’re now  part of an interracial couple. They react by telling you that your children will have it hard in life or that the Bible forbids interracial coupling. Rather than angrily labeling them ignorant racists and dismissing them, try to address your family’s concerns. Point out that mixed-race kids who are raised in loving homes and allowed to embrace all sides of their heritage don’t fare any worse than other children. Read up on interracial relationships and the common misconceptions that surround them to put to rest the concerns your loved ones have about your new union. Protect Your Partner Does your partner really need to hear every hurtful remark your  racist relatives  have made? Not in the slightest. Shield your partner from hurtful comments. This isn’t only to spare the feelings of your significant other. If your friends and family ever do come around, your partner can forgive them and move forward free of resentment.   Of course, if your family disapproves of your relationship, you’ll have to let your partner know, but you can do so without going into excruciating detail about race. Yes, your partner may have already experienced racism and the pain of being stereotyped, but that doesn’t mean he or she no longer finds bigotry unsettling. No one should grow accustomed to  racial prejudice. Set Boundaries Are your friends and family trying to force you to end your interracial relationship? Perhaps they keep trying to set you up with people who share your racial background. Perhaps they pretend as if your significant other doesn’t exist or go out of their way to make your mate uncomfortable. If you’re experiencing any of these scenarios, it’s time to set some boundaries with your meddling loved ones.   Let them know that you’re an adult capable of choosing an appropriate mate. If they don’t find your mate appropriate, that’s their problem. They have no right to undermine the decisions you’ve made. Furthermore, it’s hurtful for them to disrespect someone you care about, especially if they’re only doing so because of race. Set Ground Rules Which ground rules you set with your loved ones are up to you. The important thing is to follow through on them. If you tell your mother that you won’t attend family functions unless she also invites your significant other, stick to your word. If your mother sees that you’re not going to let up, she’ll decide to either include your mate in family functions or risk losing you.

Maria Full of Grace shows what people are willing to do, in order to obtain money to feed their families. Maria is a Colombian girl who comes from a poor family and feels the necessity to help her family to get a better living standard. The only job available that can pay her a great sum of money is to transport illegal drugs in her body to the United States. She gets this job by a friend of hers who, has done this job before and has a lot of experience in this job. The movie of Spanglish is also a movie that shows what, immigrants and others are willing to do to earn a bit of money, to support their families. This movie takes place in Los Angeles. It is about a house cleaner named, Flor who came from Mexico, a single mother who has to support her daughter, Cristina. Deborah hires Flor to be her housekeeper. Neither woman is perfect but both try to be perfect in their own way, they do not take each other criticism, And how DeborahÃÆ' ¢Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚ ¬Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚ ¢s husband John, takes interest in Flor the housekeeper. Deborah is a slave to perfection in physical terms. She pushes her chubby young daughter, Bernie, to lose weight by buying her new clothes that are too small. Deborah does not show love to her daughter. She does not spend any time with Bernie whatsoever and instead Deborah actually prefers FlorÃÆ' ¢Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚ ¬Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚ ¢s skinnier, prettier Twelve-year-old daughter, Cristina. Spanglish proves that strong relatable characters and a deeply emotional story just do not cut it if you do not have a decent ending. Although it is nice to see, the characters built up so their lives extend beyond the span of the film, it would have been better to see some sort of resolution. Both movies show different ways people earn a living and the sacrifice that each person has to make in order for them to provide food, shelter, clothes, to their family. They both show the sacrifices an individual has to make to support his or hers family to get ahead in life and to try not to come back to the same low living standards as before. They also show that they want their kids to get a better future, and better opportunities in another country. Both movies have good criteria on them. I can relate to both stories, because similar things happen to my family and me, for example my mom got here with eleven kids from another country. She did not have a job, she had to go out and find a job without speaking a word in English, to give us the opportunity to go to school and to get a better future. I see the same necessity happening to all cultures, not only Hispanics or Latinos it happens to all people who are not born in the United States and that they do not speak English, as Flor and Maria went through it in both of the movies. If the movie has an interesting beginning than many people are going to want to watch it. A bad beginning kills the entire movie. Something that helps people remember the movie, I think Maria Full of Grace and Spanglish, have a good ending it could have been better but I learned something from both of the movies and I could understand why they ended up the way they did. Maria Full of Grace, at the end Maria decided to stay in the United States, I could understand why she might decided to stay because she was pregnant and she probably wanted a better future for her child. I would recommend both movies to everyone because they are movies that everybody can learn something new. They have a good point of view and they are something different from other movies. People who have been through rough times and that have to work hard to succeed in life and become whom they want to be, I think they would like both movies because both movies show how people want and can succeed in life and how some people are willing to do everything and anything to have a better future. Tybalt doesnt understand, and when he doesnt understand things, he gets frustrated, and he has to let out his anger by being violent and then Tybalt starts hitting Romeo. He thinks that Romeo is either mocking him, or showing homosexual tendencies. To Tybalt, both of these possible meanings are equally wicked and either way Romeo should be punished in some way. He then confrontationally says to Romeo, Romeothou art a villain Tybalt feels that Romeo has wronged him belonging to a family that hates his own and that, perhaps Romeo has actually physically hurt him in some way in a previous conflict between the two houses. Romeo is so tortured by the guilt of causing his friends death, that he decides to avenge Mercutios death by killing Tybalt. This could show that he is concerned about his chances with Juliet, after all, hes just killed her cousin, or he could be anxious about getting caught by the law, and perhaps therefore afraid for his life. This means she thinks that underneath Romeos good looks is a bad heart and that deep down he is not quite what she had expected, not the man she fell in love with on the night of the party. She is saying that she thinks Romeo is really a nasty piece of work but he tricked her into thinking that he was a kind, nice boy who was good looking and an ideal husband for her. This is not the best way of showing your parental love. But they live in a society that thinks that your fathers word is law, especially on the issue of marriage. Juliet has a change of attitude to her nurse when the nurse tries to persuade her to marry Paris and forget Romeo. It is because a close friend and also a motherly figure has just tried to crush her dream to be with Romeo. She feels like the nurse isnt supporting her and isnt helping her, like a friend should, with her decisions. Perhaps the more motherly side is coming out. The nurse just wants the best for everyone, and she knows that if they marry, there will be trouble. She is probably worried about Juliet getting hurt, but this is often mistaken, as in this case, for someone not caring or being unsupportive. This explains why Juliet is so agitated at her nurses apparent change of sides. Juliet feels the nurse has betrayed her by backing up her parents and going against her when really the nurse is on her side, and doesnt want any harm to come to her.
